Meet Danie Geel.
My father put a bow in my hands before I could properly hold it. I took my first animal at five, my first Cape buffalo at eleven, and I have not stopped since.
Twenty years and more than 118 species later, four of them world records with a bow, I have learned that the trophy was never really the point. It's the stalk. The wind. The last twenty yards when your heart is the loudest thing in the bush.
That's what I guide my hunters to. Not a booking on a spreadsheet, a hunt I plan like it's my own, in the wildest corners of Africa, done the hard and honest way: fair chase, with a bow.

The questions every hunter asks.
Is bowhunting in Africa really fair chase?+
Yes. Every hunt is walk-and-stalk on free-range, low-fenced areas, no high fences, no shortcuts. You earn the last twenty yards on foot, on the animal's terms. That is the whole point of hunting with a bow.
I've never hunted Africa before. Is it too big a step?+
It's the perfect first step. South Africa offers the widest variety of game on earth in malaria-free, easy-to-reach areas, and Danie plans every detail, so a first-timer arrives with nothing to figure out.
Are the hunting areas malaria-free and safe?+
Many of our South African concessions are malaria-free. Where an area isn't, we advise you well in advance on simple precautions. Your safety and comfort are planned for from the very first email.
Can I bring my own bow, and how do I travel with it?+
Absolutely, most hunters bring their own setup. Bows travel easily as checked luggage, and we send you a simple packing-and-travel guide so it arrives safe and ready to shoot.
What about permits and getting my trophy home?+
We handle it. Hunting permits, any CITES paperwork, and the full dip-pack-and-ship process to your taxidermist are all managed and tracked for you, one of the biggest reasons hunters choose Danie.
When is the best time to hunt?+
Southern Africa hunts best from roughly May to September; our northern destinations run June to November. Tell us your target species and we'll pick the ideal window.
What does a hunt cost?+
It depends on your species and destination, from accessible plains-game safaris to premium dangerous-game hunts. Tell us what you're chasing and we'll send clear, itemised pricing with nothing hidden.
Can my partner or family come along if they don't hunt?+
Of course. Non-hunting companions are welcome and well looked after, many hunters make it a trip the whole family remembers.
